Machine warranty policy
Applies to all sewing, embroidery, quilting, and industrial machines sold by Ma Dame Stitch
At Ma Dame Stitch, we honour the official manufacturer warranty terms for all machines we sell. Whether you're purchasing a domestic sewing machine or a commercial embroidery unit, your machine is supported by expert repair services and fair warranty coverage, detailed below.

All warranties begin on the date of purchase and are valid only for the original purchaser.
2. What the Warranty Covers
Machines are covered for:

Defects in materials or workmanship due to manufacturing error

Repair or replacement of faulty components (parts and labour, where applicable)​
​
Approved warranty claims are repaired free of charge within the covered term, provided the product has been used according to its intended purpose and within manufacturer specifications.
3. What is Not Covered
User-Related Issues​

Damage caused by incorrect threading, forcing fabric, or misusing machine features

Broken needles, bobbins, or needle bars due to improper use

Improper tension settings, bobbin installation, or skipped maintenance
Damage​

Physical impact, cracked casings, or dropped machines

Electrical damage from power surges, load shedding, or incorrect voltage

Damage during shipping if improperly packaged
Wear & Tear​

Parts that degrade over time, such as belts, springs, lamps, needles, bobbins, blades, etc.

Regular maintenance and cleaning (this is your responsibility)

Dust buildup, oil residue, or lint-related motor strain
Non-Genuine Accessories or Modifications​

Use of third-party accessories or consumables not approved by the manufacturer

Software issues caused by unauthorised updates or plug-ins

Modifying the machine or using non-recommended attachments
Business Use (Brother and Juki only)​

Domestic Brother and Juki machines (excluding the Brother PR-Series) are not warranted for professional, commercial, or industrial use.

If used in a business context, the warranty is void.
Transfer of Ownership​

Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original buyer.
4. How to Lodge a Warranty Claim
Contact us at training@madamestitch.co.za with:

Model and serial number

Clear description of the issue

Proof of purchase (invoice or receipt)

If eligible, you’ll be instructed to send or bring the machine to our service centre (All our machine brands Carry-In Warranties requires this).

You are responsible for transport and packaging costs.

Repairs are completed within 7 business days, subject to parts availability.
5. Out-of-Warranty Repairs
If your warranty period has expired or your issue isn’t covered:

A repair quotation will be provided before any work is done.

We only proceed with written approval.

Repairs are completed by certified technicians using genuine parts where possible.
6. Consumer Protection
Nothing in this warranty policy affects your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
Within 6 months of receiving your machine, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund if the product is found to be defective, as per the CPA guidelines.
